Pelletizing, Grinding & Sieving Standalone units pdf

Catalyst preparation requires several steps. In order to achieve catalysts in a certain particle size range, Zinsser Analytic has developed a pelletizing unit, which compacts powderous catalysts, a grinding station which crushes pellets and extrudates and finally a sieving station for selecting the particles in the required particle size range.

Pelletizing System

Pelletizing System
The samples are manually loaded into the opening of the pelletizing system. E.g. 100-150mg of alumina powder can be compressed to one tablet. For reproducible filling we recommend our manual powder pipette DryPette. The user places the receiving containers on the park station, a LED shows that the container has been positioned correctly. The user presses the buttons to start the pelletizing. A cleaning station has been integrated to prevent cross-contamination and to ensure reproducible results.

Grinding Station

Grinding Station
The grinding station crushes pellets or extrudates in semi-micro ball mills. 4 samples can be processed in parallel. To prevent contamination disposable grinding vessels and balls are used. The samples can either be collected directly from the pelletizing system or they can be filled in manually. On the stand-alone grinding station the timing is set on the integrated timer.


Sieving Station

Sieving Station
To select the powders in a defined particle range, the samples are sieved. Up to 3 particle sizes can be selected per run. 4 samples can be processed in parallel. The sieves are made from stainless steel and can be easily cleaned in a sonication bath. Different sieve sizes are available, customized sieve sizes are available on request.
