This automated sample preparation system is optimized for preparation of raw petrochem product for injection onto GC. Only Zinsser can provide the combination of tools that can accomplish all of the tasks that are required for a sample preparation method such as this one. A few processes are standard for almost any chromatography sample preparation.
Heated vortexer for single sample bottle to provide the best solubilization. Conditions are 110 deg C, 700 rpm (programmable). The system uses wide-bore slurry probes to aspirate the viscous petro product.
SPE is performed automatically with positive pressure filtration using commercially available filtration disks (0.45 micron). The individual control of the positive pressure process for each vial ensures optimal filtration results compared to vacuum-based systems. The samples are filtered directly into the GC vials.
The robot gripper places the crimp caps onto the vials, then picks up an electrically-controlled crimping tool and individually crimps each vial. Internal standard is added to the sample vials before crimping.
The robot gripper places the sample vials into the GC autosampler. The Zinsser Winlissy software is integrated with the Agilent Chemstation software to coordinate the injection.
