Zinsser Analytic has offered Polyvials® for over 30 years. These vials are of consistently high quality and provide extremely good seals with the self-sealing screw caps. These vials are used in great numbers as storage or packing containers for diagnostic kits and as sample vials in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. The design of the bottle threads and the cap was created to solve the issue of "leaking liquids", a common problem with many vials especially when they are shipped under stressful conditions such as within air cargo holds where large temperature fluctuations cause expansion and shrinking that results in leaking. The Zinsser vials will always provide a tight and leak-proof seal even under these conditions.
Polyvials are sold separately from caps. See cap selection below.
For liquid scintillation, the standard vials are the 20 ml Polyvials V shown below, part number 3071400. Be sure to select your caps separately (so you have the choice of color you want).
Polyvials V - Natural HDPE (high density polyethylene)
Storage and packing vials made from pure, high molecular weight high density polyethylene. They have a low profile for packing and stability.

Polyvials V - Black HDPE (high density polyethylene)
These have the same properties as the Natural Polyvials except these are made from black polyethylene which makes them useful for light sensitive samples.

Polyvials V - PETG (polyethylene glycol terephthalate)
A clear non-breakable substitute for glass. They are resistant to acids, alkalines and most solvents. (Not sterilizable).

Polyvials D - HDPE (high density polyethylene)
Precision wide mouth bottles manufactured from HDPE. These vials are injection blow-molded from ultrapure natural HDPE with a special leak-proof PP cap. They are specially designed for the storage and transport of valuable reagents. Engineered for air tranport, they will hold the seal at temperatures down to -50 degrees C even under low pressure conditions. They are produced in a highly-controlled manufacturing environment under cleanroom standard class 10,000 (USSTD209E,ISO7)with In-Line quality control.

Micro-Polyvials 1.5 - Natural PP (polypropylene)
Micro-Polyvials have been developed for storage and packaging low volumes of reagents. The well-proven design of the closure ensures tight sealing without the use
of septa or liners. With their slight conical shaped bottoms, the Micro-Polyvials are ideal for high recovery. The
Micro-Polyvials are easy to open and close due to their large shoulders and the ergonomic structure of their
caps.
Micro-Polyvials are available with white and colored caps for easy identification. The caps are made from HDPE.

These caps are specially-made for Zinsser Polyvials V. They are designed with a sealing cone that provides an excellent gas-tight seal without a liner.
