TOOLS for Zinsser Automated Platforms

If you require an automated liquid handling system, you don't have to limit your choices or work around the inherent limitations that many of the available solutions offer. Zinsser Analytic automated liquid handling platforms are unique on the market because of the selection of high-performance tools that can be installed on the deck. The ability to select from this list of tools allows the user to configure a system that will fully automate the required application, whether it requires liquid handling, powder handling, weighing, heating, cooling, vortexing, pressurization, vacuum, or almost anything that can be imagined.

Probes

4-probe systems with variable Y spacing, independent Z spacing, and stainless steel or fixed tips.	8-probe systems with independent Y and Z spacing, and stainless steel or fixed tips.	Different probes can be configured; any combination of fixed, disposable, or specialized probes.	Multichannel probes with 2 or 3 channels allow distribution of various combinations of liquid, gas, and vacuum.	Piercing bevelled probe for HPLC vials; spring-loaded hold-down prevents vial from being lifted.	Heated probe. Liquid flows through heated coil built in to probe, prevents precipitation of saturated solutions.

Spray probes in varying configurations; useful for pesticide - herbicide research or paint applications.	pH probe for measuring pH; can also be combined with pH auto-adjustment too.	Ceramic probe; for dispensing highly concentrated acids and bases, or where ion-free is required.	Special 2-channel probes for spotting (MALDI).	Powder probe combined with liquid probes. See also powder handling tools.	Special pick-up probe for aspirating and dispensing viscous liquids such as oils or detergents.

Powder Handling

Redi-Fix tip for aspiration and dispensing powder. This tip has a fixed volume; it will pick up the amount amount each time (45 microliter version shown).	Fixed tips are available in different volumes. THe user can easily interchange them.	Redi Pick-Fix tips are also fixed volumes, but can be automatically interchanged by the system.	Varedi fixed tip allows user to "dial in" a powder pipetting volume.	Varix tip includes software module for programmable volumes.	5 steps of powder pipetting. 1. Shake the reservoir for even distribution. 2. Aspirate powder using vacuum. 3. Strip excess particles from outside of tool. 4. Distribute powder to labware. 5. Clean the tip.

Powders can be stirred or shaken; the characteristics of each powder will determine what is best.	Unlike many other systems, you can use a variety of containers for solids, even your the original vials they are already in.	The REDI Super can transfer larger amounts of free-flowing powder (up to 100g)

WEIGHING Automated weighing of vials, tubes and full racks or plate. Pipette liquid or add powder directly to tared labware on the balance for full gravimetric accuracy and precision.	BAR CODE scanning of vials, plates, tube racks or any bar-coded labware.	VORTEXING tubes, vials or entire racks with Zinsser-designed high-efficiency vortexing systems that have been proven in difficult applications such as automated synthesis. Even HORIZONTAL vortexing is possible!	STIRRING Magnetic stirring or direct stirring. Stirring can be combined with heating and also pipetting.	SONICATION can be used to enhance dissolution. Sonication probe can be inserted directly into liquid, or a tube can be placed into a sonication bath.	SPE Solid Phase Extraction can be automated with vacuum OR pressure from the top and used for filtration plates or cartridges.
